One of the main functions of the Arc of Meriden-Wallingford, Inc.
is to provide advocacy and assistance to members and to advocate for people with cognitive, intellectual and developmental disabilities in the local community.
The Arc offers the following advocacy services to members:
Assistance in identifying and finding services that are required or desired.
Advocating for issues in the local community, within state services and with local
legislatures.
Supporting and advocating at team meetings including overall plans of service and
individual meetings at the local schools.
Creating an individualized person centered plan.
Quarterly newsletter on the agency.
Periodic emails and mailings on issues throughout the community state and nation.
Membership in the state and national Arc’s.
Participation in the recreation program.
Participation in the Self Advocacy Program
Access to the Arc’s resource library.
