Group Supported Employment
Group Supported Employment strives to teach individuals skills they need to succeed in the workplace. The individuals are provided on-going training to learn needed job skills and work-related behaviors. The focus is on working independently as well as being a team member.

The goal is to provide staff-supervised employment to a group of individuals working in the community.

The importance of job quality, good work ethics, and the satisfaction of earning a paycheck come shining through. We take pride in our work and learn from each other everyday. At Group Supported Employment we are working toward a better future, together.

Work performed is based on an hourly wage or piece rate, depending on the job and work site. Paid holidays are available. Transportation is available though Arc of Meriden-Wallingford.

Some of the jobs include lawn care, janitorial, assembly, collating, printing business cards, letterhead, and t-shirts .

When the individuals have completed their jobs, they may participate in craft projects, field trips, picnics, trips to the park, birthday parties, and other fun activities.

Highly trained staff provide assistance with job coaching, personal needs, adult daily living skills, medical needs including medication administration, volunteer opportunities, future dream building, and person centered planning, personal relationship building, self-advocacy, advocacy and behavioral management.
