Powers Industries
Powers Industries is a multi-service area that provides subcontract employment along with community experience. 

The area is located on Powers Drive in Meriden, Connecticut. The individuals participate in a variety of work opportunities including:  packaging, copying, paper shredding, collating, washing and sorting recyclable cans, sorting clothing for the Thrift Store along with pricing, tagging and hanging the clothing. 

Some of the individuals are learning to operate computers and enter items from the thrift store onto eBay, while others work as a clerk and a cashier at the Thrift Store. 

On a daily basis individuals choose to participate in activities in the community including:  restaurants, coffee shops, candle shops, recycling center, bowling, parks, orchards and more. Individuals can also choose in-house recreation activities such as arts & crafts, puzzles and games.

Highly trained staff provide assistance with job coaching, personal needs, adult daily living skills, medical needs including medication administration, volunteer opportunities, future dream building, and person centered planning, personal relationship building, self-advocacy, advocacy and behavioral management.
